| Electric Heating Elements
/ Mica Insulated Heaters |
|
| Mica Nozzles |
| This type of heater
was designed primarily as an economical heater solution for
nozzle heating applications. |
 |
 |
Heater
type NSB10
Fiberglass insulated wires with 12” lead
length |
Heater
type NSB11
Fiberglass insulated wires protected
by flexible stainless steel braid. Recommended where abrasion
is a problem. Standard length of wires 12”, length
of braid 10”. |
|
| Mica Bands |
Specially selected
grade and thickness of mica sheets are used to insulate electrical
windings, providing excellent thermal conductivity
and dielectric strength.
High quality nickel-chromium resistance wires
and ribbons are selected to achieve the lowest
internal temperatures possible, resulting in maximum
heater life. The ribbon or wire are evenly spaced for
uniform heat distribution and reliable accuracy. |
 |
Base
Construction Style
1 Section construction
is used when the band heater can be slipped over the end
of the cylinder.
2 Section construction
is used on the larger cylinders or where the heaters cannot
be slipped over the end of the cylinder.
3 or 4 Section constructions
are recommended for heaters with diameters typically
more than 15” for improving the clamping force and
surface contact for efficient heat transfer. |

Fig.3 Internal Heater
Installed
inside of cylinder and used for heating of inside surface.
Designed and made strictly to customer specification. Typically have 1 or 2 section
and internal tabs for good contact with inside surface
of the heated cylinder.

Can be open and closed as often as necessary. Available
with any screw or leads variation |

 |
Partial Coverage
Normally
it is required where machine obstructions prevent application
of full bands. Typically it can have 1 or 2 – sections. Heater
is screw down to the cylinder on the ends and can have
any clamping variation on the other side. |
Fig.6 Heaters with
Holes and cutouts
Holes and cutouts are normally
required in band heaters for installation of thermocouples
and/or holding bolts. An
oversize GAP often can serve the same purpose saving the
expense of the holes. As an additional option for this
special construction style, holes can have additional parts
(thermocouple coupling with threaded fitting or bayonet
adaptors) for facilitates the installation of an external
thermocouples. Specify dimensions, quantity and positions
of holes |
| |
Heaters
with all construction/mounting variations can be ordered
with all termination style shown below. Standard position
of screw terminals, terminals boxes, leads and plugs – is
on the middle line of the heaters close to the GAP. Termination
exits with customer specified angle from the center of
GAP and/or offset from the middle line are available. |
